I have a privilege to visit Cat Cafe when I visited Japan few years ago. Ever since I am obsessed with the idea of Cat Cafe...I think it is great to drink a cup of coffee and mingle with kitties! When I was in the Cat Cafe, the menu was fairly simple, few drinks and snacks but I heard some Cat Cafe in Japan are stepping up with food selection... For example "Neko No Mahou"(Cat's magic) in Nagoya, their Cat Cafe serves gourmet pizza, pasta, salad, desert etc... This is like any other restaurant in Japan! Imagine having a great meal with fluffy kitties??? I wish I can open a Cat Cafe in the US...that will be fantastic!!

I have read about these Cat Cafes! They sound wonderful. You are very lucky to have been to one.
How about a cafe where people can bring their own kitties for a cat-party like Goma has sometimes???
One of my best friends, who is also our neighbor, is from Japan, and she visits Cat Cafes when she has a visit home (missing her own sweet cat, who is in my care <3)
We think this would be a great idea for the US! The kittehs could be rescue kittehs from the local shelter and people could come and see if they are compatible before adopting them. xxoo Patty

I think a cat cafe would be great! But the U.S. has so many regulations around restaurants, and pets in restaurants, I have NO idea how it could be worked out.
I've never heard of a cat cafe!! I really wish there as something like this here in the USA but we have some crazy restaurant regulations it would never happen

It would be wonderful to have a Cat Cafe, but Sparkle said it all. The regs are so many and so strict you would have to re-rite the book to get one licensed.
Still, one would be great to visit.
Of course we know that the people writing the regs for cafes and restaurants are NOT cat people.
Hummm, I wonder if you could get around some regs if the kitties were in a separate lounge?
